Grace, dignity and intelligence count for a lot, by me.

see: Two Women and/or A Special Day among others.

Sophia Loren is indeed a beautiful woman. However, I have always thought she had serious competition in the beauty (if not the career) stakes from the Austrian actress, Senta Berger.

She had a relatively brief Hollywood career in the 1960s, appearing in several movies, the best remembered of which are probably 'Major Dundee', opposite Charlton Heston, and 'The Quiller Memorandum' opposite George Segal. She also did some TV, including an episode from 'The Man from U.N.C.L.E.' Her publicity people claimed, justifiably I suspect, that she had the same vital statistics as Sophia Loren, albeit that she was 3" shorter.

For some reason she never got along too well with the Hollywood moguls and in the late 60s made a conscious decision to return to her native Austria, where, as well as in Germany and Italy, she enjoyed a long and successful career on stage and as a film producer. She did do another Peckinpah movie, however, in 1977, called 'Cross of Iron", with James Coburn and Maximillian Schell.

A very lovely lady.

I thought this matter had all been settled... Diana Rigg/Mrs. Peel!

Oh, Sophia though... she could eat crackers in my bed with no rebuke!

Sophia is one of my all time favourites, as well as Audrey Hepburn. Both of them exuded the kind of sultry seductiveness that made us youg fellas want to see them on the silver screen again and again.

There were a few others though,

Anne Miller

Rita Hayworth

Grace Kelly

I used to have a collection of all the pin up girls from the 20's through to the 60's except the old PC got the chop and wasn't backed up, so thank goodness for Google!

Sophia is beautiful no doubt as is Lauren Bacall and a bevy of others, but the issue was settled a few days ago

Diana Rigg was a breath-taking stunner when she was young and to this day introducing Masterpiece Theatre is still stunning, proving once and for all that true beauty is timeless.

Another one few mention is Carol Cleveland of Monty Python fame. If Angels flew down to earth they'd look like her....
