I must reread Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

Thanks SpeedyPete! Loved it! Bookmarked for further study.

Thanks for posting the "Sausage Creature" link. I tried to save the bike mag that originally pub'd it, but it got lost amongst all the other mags. Another good read is the first book he wrote, entitled "The Rum Diary", written when he was 22. What a talent.

Also, per Sweatmachine's suggestion, give "Hells Angels" a try. It is an excellent documentary, and one that still p***** off Sonny Barger when he's interviewed.

What a great quote.... "Being shot out of a cannon will always be better than being squeezed out of a tube."

No more need be said... :-D

+ 1 on Hell's Angels. Made me want to have been there.

This is the line that really got me: "This is a shameful admission for a full-bore Café Racer, but let me tell you something, old sport: This motorcycle is simply too god***** fast to ride at speed in any kind of normal road traffic unless you're ready to go straight down the centerline with your nuts on fire and a silent scream in your throat."

A really good writer makes me "see it." Hunter makes me see it.
