Man, I've been adrift in the 1050 section all this time.

Gotta get caught up on Speed Triple posts over here.
I see that I'm not the only one that see's it as the 1050 section. Those dudes need their own board. Let us vintage pre-1050 guys talk about something other than Zard cans and handlebars. We're all graduated from that years ago. 6 years in my case....(ride a '99)

Stone,
Did you use to hang out at twtex.com? Are you in the Metromess area?
Yes I did. I asked that my account be deleted after The Master edited one of my posts. I'll speak for myself. Truthfully, I was never too active on that board. It's solely Master's board - not the community he misrepresents it as.

I'm not at all ok with my thoughts being judged and censored. But that's cool - it's his server, his software, his bandwidth, etc - he's more than entitled to lord over people and speak for them.

What's disturbing is that anyone would want to.

I live in Houston. I'm not close to Plano. If I were ever to head that way, I'd make a post a few weeks ahead of time to see if anyone was interested in riding.

It's good to see that there's more T3 Speed Triples around than I had previously thought.

Yeah, there's only so many threads I can read about fender eliminators and frame sliders. :knkknk:

Don't know if you remember, but as you can tell, I pulled the trigger and got the black 95 Triple I chatted with you briefly online about. Thanks for your input.

So far, it's been a blast except for the carbs. When I first got it, the pilot jet on the center carb was badly clogged and #3 was not much better. Got that sorted out and got myself a carb sync tool. Things were running pretty good until a couple of weeks ago when either one of the o-rings on one of the float assembly was leaking or a float's sticking. Was flooding the engine and dripping gas out the airbox. Since I was never 100% sure I had the mixture right anyway, I decided to wimp out and let the guys at RPM have a go. Hoping all the good I've heard about them holds true. I'm anxious to see it's true potential.

Letting someone else sync your carbs isn't wimping out - at least not in my book. I do most everything myself, but carbs and tire-mounting I leave to the dealer.

I think you'll dig her. It's a different kind of ride than the new ones, alright. It's more visceral, more involved. She has her own ideas on how things should be done, but once you learn the bike, it's a blast. You have to be a little more involved with her - but that's why we ride, man.
