anyone else find it tricky riding to work in the snow thank god for major bus routes!

IN BY CAR TODAY AS i HAD TO DRIVE DOWN TO A MEETING IN nORTHAMPTON, NO REAL SNOW AND THE ROADS ARE CLEAR, BUT TO HEAR THE NEWS YOU WOULD THINK IT WAS ANOTHER ICE AGE! sOUNDS LIKE IT GOT WORSE THE FURTHER SOUTH YOU WERE.

We had a good 3 inches this morning. No apparent attempt to grit or clear the snow.

Took me 45 minutes to get to the A1 where it usually takes 5. After that it was pretty clear. Apart from the cars in ditches and on top of the Armco.

Enough snow around in Kent to stop me going out for a ride today.
Soon be spring I keep saying to myself. Will be great to go out again with my Bonni.

Well here in Brum we caught it good. Its still snowy here but that won't last as its raining right now. We've had a good 5 inches on Thursday which thawed a little then another 5 inches on Friday. Took my wife nearly 4 hours to get from Leamington to Birmingham. A 23 mile journey!!!! She saw three bikes go past. Two of which were abandoned further up the motorway. Suffice to say our bikes are staying in the garage.

It was pathetic in Bristol. I was really looking forward to riding in the snow, but hardly had any. And what we did have was gone by 11am.

The ride to work was easy and disappointingly slip/lock free. Maybe that's just as well.
