Booya! I don't have work today b/c the ice on the roads. Here in TX when ever there's even the slightest bit of ice on the road the whole city closes down; it's really cool. It a really big deal here. :bday: :jest: :nana: :roflmoa2:

Are you kiddin me? Thats every day stuff round these parts. Not even news worthy a foot or less. The last couple years have been dry though.

Never ceases to amaze me though, the idiots you see in the ditch EVERY year with the first snow. Like they have'nt grown up with this stuff.

Even when I lived in AK and MT, the first snow of the season filled the sides of the roads with cars. Here in AL, even the word SNOW will send everyone into a panic, and start closing schools, businesses, and empty the grocery store shelves - whether it actually snows or not.

OMG, that's pathetic. I just got 10" of snow last night and was bombing around on the icey hwy's at 50mph. My car only weighs 2300lbs, just gotta be careful and pay close attention to the road. I usually try to keep the rpm's under 2k and be very light on the gas.

I hear ya brother. The news said an ice storm was coming in for 2-3 days and then it showed people storming the super market. What's with these people? Don't they keep enough food for 2-3 days in their house?

It's easy to run out of pork rinds and moon pies in a day or two. Best to stock up ahead of time.

Several years ago while living in Houston we got a very light snow. So light you could see the green grass through it. Businesses called off work and the schools closed. Pretty funny.

Funny how jackasses buy SUVs for the extra hauling capacity and room, then don't know how to drive the fat bastards. If you're going to buy a vehicle, no matter what it is, at least learn how to drive it in ALL conditions just in case the ***** hits the fan and you're surrounded by a bunch of morons who don't know how to drive.

Winter of 04 I was flying down Airport Hwy in my 03 Civic Si hatch passing all kinds of SUVs, trucks, and other slow mofos. Hell, that little hatch could probably outdo my WRX STI in the snow if both had non-snow street tires. Its just a matter of knowing how to modulate throttle and steering to ride the driftooOOOOO! Woot.

Oh, and *** is up with this ice storm, Euro? I moved to Dallas for two things, Video Game Design grad school and year-round riding weather. Turns out I get down here and its 6F COLDER than back home! I want my money back!

Anyway, after the ice melts, I'll be back on the road dragging ass on a daily basis until this pair of Pilot Powers wears out. They're not what they used to be after 6k miles.

yep, down in houston my office is closed tomorrow (Tuesday) because of the weather. i'm really mad, because i just got my new speed triple on saturday, and was able to ride all of 17 miles on it (half of those in the rain on sunday) before having to put it away for the week. of all the weeks for the weather to be crappy, it HAD to be this one.

btw, birdman, would you happen to be that black S3 that always parked at the M parking at speedway and dean keaton last year? i graduated a year ago from there, and that was the only S3 i ever saw on campus.

andrewt,
no... I have a silver triple. Huh, I never saw that other bike around. In fact, I don't think I have ever seen another speed triple in Austin since I have been here. I am sure they are around just I never seem to come across any. Sucks about the weather and your new bike. Hopefully this weather leaves soon.

Naw, although I have been here for quite some time I only got the bike in June. Also, I live close enough to campus that I walk. would be badass though to ride that thing to campus and let all the ladies check me out... that campus is full of rediculous hotties. I love the view at 40 acres... really can't beat it. Although, most of the boom booms come from houston... so i am sure you aren't hurtin' down there

It actually snowed, so there's really no work here! Sucks that I'm sick, and can't take advantage of it.

I used to ride my old trophy to class. The only problem I had doing that was school was so close that it didn't warm up so I eventually fouled the plugs. Changing spark plugs is pain when you have to take off the whole top half of your bike to get to them.
