small female plug in wiring harness behind gauges was wondering if this could be used for GPS. It has small wires ,one black, one black with a white stripe. Thanks for any info.
If it's a 1050, there are two sockets behind the gauges, one with 3 wires (used for the Triumph heated grips) and one with 2 wires (GPS connection). They are fed directly from the battery (via a fuse, of course) and are not switched.

On the 955, the 3-wire heated grip connector has both switched and unswitched power to it. I have just fitted Daytona heated grips and used a relay, energised by the switched line and using the unswitched for power to the grips. The unswitched is in the same circuit as the accessory socket, so has a 10A fuse covering it.
ChazzyB, I've just checked the cct. diagram and I reckon you're right, there's a switched and unswitched lead. The switched lead is obviously meant to operate a relay. However, the 2-wire gps connector is definitely unswitched.
Now, someone mentioned the only thing they wouldn't attempt to do themselves was balance the throttle bodies, or something very similar I can't quite remember.
Is this a Triumph dealer only job or can my local guy give it a bash with any chance of success ?

I've got a weird issue that I'm looking for some advice on. The coolant level in my overflow is going down, but in the oddest fashion.
I can ride all day and the level stays rock-solid. I park the bike up overnight and come out the next morning and the level has gone down.
I thought it might...
Been told I need a new chain at 17500 miles as bike is being serviced for a 3000 mile tour of France. The mechanic has said I do not need sprockets, I was always under the impression "new chain, new sprockets" your thought would be appreciated. What mileage are you getting out of your chains...
as it has been very cold around here lately the Tiger (955i) has been tucked up in my shed under a bike cover.
Every few day I start the Tiger up and let it run after I have squeezed water pipes shock bike to check levels, etc before start up, generally no problem
tonight when I shut it off I...
Hi
I been looking around in the forum, but couldn't find anything exact about what to do to the T400 engine.
For starters, I driven the Tiger 900, 855i, 955i and the 1050, and I found that I preferred the good old steamer.
Now I am experiencing a bit of noise from my clutch and valve /...
