what is going on?- seems like a lot of movement lately before engaging the cable - is there adjustment or is something failing? great ride tonite to a local vintage bike nite. the old girl seemed to steal the show...Honda guys oogling her - eat your 'art out!0:)

on some throttles there is a small "abutment" at the throttle that the cable sits in - if the cable is loose this can fall out - then there is more movement on the throttle before the cable starts to operate - it is usually about 3/8 inch long , slots over the cable , and is stepped so it locates in the throttle - the cable end should only enter the throttle by about the length of the small ferrule on the end of the cable - if it is a lot more then you may be missing the abutment --- alternatively there should be adjusters in the length of the cables - usually under the tank near the carbs

thanks for response - I have to get a look at it- maybe it's stretching with some broken strands - just did the clutch cable and it was close to breaking remaining strands..

it was all intact - in line adjuster was located about a foot or so from the top end - opened up, lengthened cable and retightened - took out the slop. Thnx again for tip on this.
