Hello,
Is it normal to be able to move the clutch basket a little (1/8'') when the clutch is disengaged? Now that I have it all back together I notice it, and I never payed attention to it before rebuilding.

Thanks

I have noticed nearly imperceptible movement all the way up to what seemed like nearly 1/4" of slop in the BASKET, all working normally.

Where you will get serious troubles are ANY amount of "play" or "slop" in the HUB section. The slightest looseness will cause the key to shear, and the slightest wobble of the shaft will cause everything in the primary case to wear out quickly.

When I grab onto the teeth on the basket with the clutch pulled in, the basket will move, but the clutch plates/hub do not. Is that what you mean?

Thanks
