Hiya folks,

I'm going to be installing a Norman Hyde skid plate this weekend (along with a few other things).

However, the frame at the bottom has lots of stone chips, and little scratches. I think it is a good idea to clean it up properly first.

Got any suggestions on what to do???

I'm thinking I'll wipe the area down with something (turpentine perhaps?) and then paint it with Hammerite Rust Cap paint. Apparently it needs no primer and can go straight on rust (none yet fortunately).

Cheers all!

Zaq, I agree, a good coat to seal out moisture would help. Let it dry for a day. good thinking.
