Loved the story about the Targa. It is hard to get anybody to race anymore. My son and I do get it on sometimes and the other day we were riding and just sort of jumped on it
on a back road to see who could go the fastest. I had my lightly modified ,regeared '06 Speedy and he was riding his 'stock '06 Sprint STS/ABS -we cranked it on and ran until we ran out of room (not a real long distance) and I saw over 140mph. We stayed pretty much even the whole way. We got home and I showed 142 mph on the tell tale speedo and he showed 142.4 mph on his. Just a nice hard run after a long fast ride to see the fall color display. Ya gotta love the kid. We love our Triples-maybe add a Tiger next year and let my younger son have the Speedy if and when he can get out of the Army. (that is another story-maybe the Democrats will let him out after 5 years +. With 15 months in Baghdad and a 2 year tour in Germany etc. He is a Captain and they do not seem to let those guys out very easily. Rummy ruined the Army for sure! How did I get on this??

My father rides a 99 legend. and is 68. We ride almost everytime it is nice here and have riddin even in December. Even though his bike is not as fast or quick as mine we still ride hard. He made a coment the other day that kinda made me think of why our friends (Harleys and other GJB's) Thats ganeric jap bikes! don't ride with us much anymore. He said over a fantastic cold brew after riding hard on H hiway out of excelsior springs mo. "Ya know no ones gonna ride with us' I said why? He said "cause we ride to hard" I guess we always seem to compete with each other and forget the other riders with us. F'm I ride with my dad and thats ok by me....Ride as long as you can with your son. I would never have believed it would bring us this close. I am 44 and we never realy did anything together as kids. (nothing in comon realy) Now we are together alot either changing ignitors on his legend or figuring out what drive sproket to change on mine. Good luck with your son...Sean

I've seen 160ish on my wifes 05 ST. If you break em in right and give yourself plenty of room in a good tuck, I'm sure it'd break 170 with a K&N filter, race can, and a little tuning with the stock gearing.
