The tip of the shifter (the pin with the rubber that screws into the actual shift arm) fell clean off on the way to work this morning. The threads in/on the shaft itself look ok, so I'm assuming it just came loose and unscrewed itself.
Does anyone happen to know what size/pitch of bolt that will fit? Its ridable, but a field expedient repair would be nice.

Hi there
can't help with the size but this must be a common occurence. I went to my nearest dealer to purchase the very same part and he had a bucketof the darn things:eek:. Cost about a fiver(pounds)fitted with red Loctite this time:D

Thanks for the feedback.
Unfortunately bikebandit doesn't actually list the size of the fitting.
A good guess at the hardware store showed that it is an M8 fitting, so an M8x35mm bolt with a little blue loctite is serving for now.

Certainly an annoying and possibly dangerous fault :-(
