so, like many of you, i'm not too keen on the speedo assembly on my scrambler. too big and bulky for my tastes. i've seen the mini speedo options that are available and see how to get that done, but...

was in the garage the other night and was looking at the speedo bucket on my thruxton and it dawned on me: why not buy a thruxton speedo bucket, seal, and shortened trip odometer reset, and fabricate an aluminum bracket to hold the scram speedo in a thruxton bucket mounted to the top front of the triple clamp? kind of like the thruxton bracket, but for only one gauge. figured i could take the headlight mounts off the forks, turn them upside down and swap sides. thinking it might drop the headlight enough so that speedo will sit nice and low. need to grind the ignition mount of those things anyway.

am i crazy? anyone have a reason why this might not work as i've visualized it?

thinking i'll just lose the idiot lights in the process, assuming there won't be any issues without the lights plugged in...
