I recently purchased a 07 Tiger and am eager to take some long weekend trips. I don’t want to mount the factory hard bags; I would rather just throw a set of soft saddlebags over the seat. But, I am concerned that the heat shield over the muffler will not provide adequate protection. Have any of you guys added saddlebag guards? If so, where did you purchase them, and how did they work?

So, you have all opted for the factory hard bags, or none of you use the soft saddlebags, or the heat shield offers sufficient protection? Which is it.

Or we almost all have older tigers and are Jealous.

As the bike is a new model from a small manufacturer accessories will always be hard to find make your own!

My old 2000 Tiger’s heat shield protects my set of Belstaff throw over panniers even on a 500 mile run if it’s any help.

And welcome to the forum.

I have a 03 Tiger and use oxford throw overs. I use a piece of chicken wire that was bent to cover the remainder of the exhaust. Works brilliantly - easy to install and cost less than two british pounds. Not sure if you call it chicken wire in america, its a mess wire used in fencing
