I would think they are under the clear coat so sand paper. Could be wrong though as I ride on an ST

I used a heat gun to remove them. I tried alcohol and goo gone to remove the glue but unleaded gasoline ended up being the best solvent. It's gonna take some time to remove them without damaging the paint.

3b's right - no clear coat. They come off easily with a hairdryer on medium and some patience.

Start at one corner and peel back slowly whilst applying heat - carefully. No paint damage for me!

I used petrol to get the sticky stuff off then washed the surface with detergent and water.
