Well I wasn't expecting to find one to ride this soon but Bogart's near Birmingham had a white demo and a black one . I must say that it was everything I have read and more. I loved the ergos, power down low was great and the bike seemed real comfy. Also I did not find anything wrong with the shifting effort as one magazine tester did. In fact the only small flaw that I found was on the seat and that was that the cover did not lay down good toward the rear of the driver's part of the seat. Maybe it would after it gets strecthed a little. Over all I was very pleased with the test ride. Now if I could just get a decent price on one.

I noticed the same thing.

It is like that because the cover is just stretched over the seat and not shaped and glued down.

It is plain and simply cost cutting (read cheap).

You will not find this on quality after-market seats, but you will pay dearly for them.

Personally, I am partial to Corbin and I hope they put a Tiger 1050 seat on the market pretty quick.

We got the great weather for motorcycling right now eh Playin.

I rode my Bonnie all week to school in Reno (UNR). I would be riding it this weekend but I had a little whoopsie with springy SUV rear lid and took some stiches in the face on Thursday. Stiches are supposed to be out Tuesday and then back on the bike.

I am told winter is returning this Friday but it has been a great two week or so for riding around here.

I am planning to order my TIger in late summer early fall. Then for the winter I will have a bike for each of my garages- the one in Reno and the one in Tahoe.

And, alas, two insurance payments.

Glad you liked it. I put about 130 on mine yesterday and it amazes me how much I like this bike right out of the box.

Mr. Gaither,
How many miles did you get to clock on the demo? I'm in Atlanta and I might ride over to Bogarts to try out the Tiger.
And did they quote you an OTD price? Thanks, Lloyd.

I got two of their loops, I think it was only around ten miles. I can give you their price if it's ok with the forum rules, I really don't know if it is or not. Maybe I could PM you withit.

The forum rules wouldn't let me reply to your pm until I've posted to the list 10 times...but:

Thanks for the quote which sounded pricey to me.

I have a bunch of riding buddies over in the Birmingham area that ride with the Floribama Riders. A nice (in)sane and very accomplished group of riders. We run a couple of rallies and a couple/three track days a year. The Birmingham chapter is very active with weekly socials and weekend rides every weekend regardless of weather. If you want to check them out, I can send you a list of their weekly social meet spots.

I'm interested in the Tiger and would have bought last year's Sprint ST, but it wasn't comfortable enough for me. My ideal bike would be the 675 motor in a "standard", read upright, style frame with legroom. The older I get, the less motor I need. And I'm not doing any week long rides across country where I need something as big as the 1050. My longest trips are the occasional 1200 mile three day weekends. I could be wrong though and once I ride the new Tiger I may change my mind about 1050cc's. I may run over to Bogarts if Atlanta Triump Ducati doesn't get a Demo Tiger soon.

Anyway thanks for the reply.
Regards,
Lloyd

Loyd..... Tell Neal/Steve/Mike at Bogart's to give you the B'ham Dirtdog discount. They usually deduct 5% and add back in 10% once thay have thought about it. :)
