i have a problem with my daytona. just rebuilt motor, have fitted new rocker spindles and can hardly blow through the feed hole when assembled.
i have checked the oilways are clear on the new spindle.
started the bike up and put my finger over the return in the oil tank to force oil up the top end. but it just blew the flexi pipe off the feed line.
frightened to run the bike like this as i reckon top end will nip up.

any answers much appreciated

thanks

Pull the rockerboxes off, polish the shafts and rocker tunnels with 0000 steel wool, and clear all passageways with a thin wire and blast of compressed air. Re-fit the rockers to the shafts with WD-40 OUT OF THE ENGINE, and test-blow. Should be good to go, re-assemble and run happily.

you didn't by chance install the bolts through the banjo unions backwards by chance?

i had an engine come to me that way once..
there is a bevel around the bolts that align with banjo unions to allow oil to pass into rocker boxes.. acorn nuts should be on top. -j

yeah they are on the right way NH, i also cleared the oil feed holes on the new spindles as they had been covered in some anti-rust treatment for storage
cheers
