I went for a ride today too, little warmer than you had it though (high 30's). Just about 30 miles around a lake nearby, friggin sand and gravel all over the place due to a recent storm and gravel trucks from a new development going in. Going to get real cold this week so even a short ride was a gift.

Have you ridden the KTM? They look real good, but appear to be super tall. I look at the height of the seat, cases and that huge gas tank being a negative for handling?

Stay warm!

It was 37 here in Sunny Florida when our li'l bunch met up for the breakfast run. Even at that, the fingers went numb. I salute your fortitude.
