Sunday afternoon trip around OSLO.

Took my girlfriend on a short but nice trip around Oslo.
Scenery from down town to the hills called Holmenkollen (famous Ski Jump), then some fields and nice twistis. Back down and a bit of highway home. Ca 80 km long.

Just got back from a 2500 mile run from NYC down to the Blue Ridge Parkway, all the way to Deal's Gap and the Tail of the Dragon, around to the Cherohala Skyway, and back up the east coast. You couldn't pick a better time of year to do this run. Leaves just starting to change, especially up in the mountains, but the weather was still in the 70's and 80's almost the entire time. The Skyway might be the most fun road I've ever ridden (though one of my buddies I was riding with did manage to go down in one of the tighter turns - just a few bruises and a bent shifter lever). I'll get some pictures up soon.

ROAD TRIP: Los Angeles to Goldfield NV and back,
785 miles of mostly high-speed cruising, from the seaside to 6100 feet and return.

My bike: The 2012 Bonneville.
Problems: Only my sore, tired OLD butt.
Fuel consumption: NICE!
An overall 46.1 mpg, with three segments (totaling 385 miles of the 785) showing 49-52-mpg where the top-gear cruising speed was restricted to a hard-cap of 4500-rpm. Going up to 5K would drop that down to the low-40's.
It would have been nice to take more than a day for the leg up, and the leg down, but I was chasing rain (or it was chasing me) both ways and I like to stay dry.

The girl done good!

:AmericanFlag As a school teacher I have made the most of my summers these last few years. I've put nearly 76,000 glorious miles on my T100. I have ridden coast to coast 6 times, plus some other epic adventures. I rode some of Americas's greatest highways and visited all the connected 48 states. Been to Sturgis 4 times (including this summer) and must say, it would be good to see some more Triumph riders out there!

All my journeys have been kept on an online blog with tons of photos. Check it out! There are a lot of places worth seeing out there!

Great blog! I'm in NJ right outside of Philly. I'm planning to ride to Las Vegas next Spring to visit my nephew. I'm planning on taking up to 14 days to travel out then fly back. I want to take a northern route up through SD and Montana then down to LV. Is 14 days realistic? I don't want to take the hwy unless I'm forced to make up time.

Blonde goes to Bisbee, AZ

Had a great weekend trip with my neighbors, went to Bisbee & Tombstone just for fun. They both ride Harleys, I let them hang out with me anyway. This was my first road trip with my buds in over a year, so I was pretty cranked up. Two days before, I prepped my T100 - cleaned and lubed the chain, fluids, all that good stuff. Washed and waxed - dang it's a beautiful bike... Keep that in mind... TWO Days prior I started prepping for this ride. We met at nine. I was a bit chilly on the ride over to their places, but hey, it's Arizona, I figured it would warm up. Bad plan... I forgot my gloves, I left my super warm leather jacket hanging in the closet...I didn't wear nylons (sorry guys, but they're awesome to keep your legs warm...). By the time I got to Bisbee both hands were numb. I tried the hold the left hand down by the engine, sit on left hand, occasional flex of right hand... all the tricks. What a knothead. All that prep, I forgot to prep ME. My buddy saved my life though, he had a spare pair of gloves in his saddle bag. Regardless of my "duh," lack of prep, it was a terrific ride and we all had a great time. Ate a really good lunch of roast beef sandwiches with green chile, looked at junk, overall super trip.
