After reading a few threads lately about intake, I think I want to take the plate out of my project bike as well. It's the little 790 Black, does anybody have any links or quick suggestions how best to remove it? Rear wheel is removed, fender's off, lots of access..... how best to attack this project?
Although I hear "Triumph put alot of research into design of the airbox" and I agree that messing or removing it has its pitfalls (I work for a major car manf so I know what these guys think about).
I removed mine and the butt dyno says go man go (along with a free flowing exhaust system and correct jetting).
Hard for me to believe that a 1x2.5 snorkel opening that leads to a 40-50 cu.inch box and then to a .5 x 6 restrictor plate to the bikes lungs is better than what I am experiancing with the removal of it.
Listen to the wind for it tells of the stink that is to follow.
