OK heres the deal, I just got a promotion that is long over due, but thats another story. I've decided to go ahead and buy the 07 speed triple I've had on my desktop for the last year and a couple of mods. This raises a couple of questions. I like the M4 exhaust, so...

1. Can I break in the bike with it?

2. Do I have to buy a tune boy to run it?

3. Do I need to remap at all?

4. Or can I have the stock computer remapped?

5. Would it be completely wrong to want to paint it red?

And also thanks to this great forum I'll be saving about $1500 by driving to Southern Powersports to pick it up. :)

1.) I don't see why not. The free flowing exhaust should provide less stress on the engine, providing you're following the break in procedure. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong, I don't want to ruin this guy's bike.)

2.) Favorable, for optimal results, but I bet the TOR tune would work just fine.

3.) I would, but before or after break in, I have no advice.

4.) See #2

5.) I love unique paint jobs. Just don't paint it "Nuclear Red."

First off congrats on the promotion, I was just up for one too, but didn't get it. It was close I was told, but the other person had alot more time on than I that factored in .
I too have considered painting mine red, my father in law does that stuff, so i'd just have to find enough Ferrari red. :-D

Congratulations and Welcome!

Both of my S3 had TORS and MAP from a start, and were broken in very nicely. First oil change is very crucial.

If you get the M4 exhaust your dealer should know which map to run (probably the TORS map)

My car is Tornado Red, cool VW color.

Enjoy your new ride!!!

Ton Up!

PS the 83 SECA is a great bike

Whatever you do, if you get a pipe at least get the TOR's tune. There has been speculation that there is a new tune for the Arrow system, you might look into that one instead.

I would suggest that you leave it stock for break in, then at the first service get the tune and fit the pipes.

You can break it in with an aftermarket exhaust, no biggie. You only need the Triumph TORS tune and you should be fine, However, if you get the tuneboy you can load the TORS tune yourself, and change it back if you need to. May or may not help you but it depends if your state snif tests your bike.

I love red bikes so go ahead and do it.

I can verify that, I was at the dealer's, they had a S3 with the GP (low mount) Arrow. They loaded the arroe tune and saw 6 hp. They expect more with a power commander, but there is a tune for the low mount arrow. However, It may be too much for just a slip-on. Consider that the Arrow is a full system, with no pre-cat.
