I'm thinking about having a caliper powder coated. There are a couple of nicks in the aluminium body, can I fill these, and what would be best to use?. Are there any disadvantages to powder coating over painting?

You can't powder coat properly over filler. So if the nicks are going to bother you you will need a dab of MIG and a bit of reshaping
