I posted this in the cruisers forum, but it probably applies to all twins and maybe even the rest of the line. Some of the logistics may differ, but it's likely the same with the non cruisers and i think should be known to those who aren't familiar with this. Please read the thread.

Thanks for the info Daz
There is no mention of them in the service manual or Haynes
manual that I could find.
I will have to take a look. There was a lot of popping and back firing with my bike before I removed the AI.

These drain hoses are on quads too and I've never had one lose its cap. My Suzuki uses a hose with a rounded, closed end. Maybe that would be a good replacement for the stock hoses on the twins.

Depends on the bike i guess, but at BA there have been many who've lost them. So the cruisers at least are suseptable. Whether the bonnie is i don't know but it's obviously good to check.

Thanks Daz, I'll keep an eye on it. In fact, I'll check it tonight. I had a bit more popping than I liked so I just turned the idle mix screw in 1/2 turn. Who knows what that popping did.

After installing the Uni filter with too much oil there was oil collecting in this tube. On my 2006 T100 it was crimped shut by melting. Had about an inch of oil in it. I took a small small punch & put a hole in it. It is just enough for the liquid to drip. It actually is still almost sealed. Work mate said his Yamaha Raptor has the same thing. I am not worried about air coming up into it. Or water.
