Are bonnie pipes and thrux pipes directly interchangable? Aside from the clips, are there any necessary parts needed. Im starting to think of switching them and pulling the rear baffles from the bonnie pipes. Partially for the looks and also to make more room for side bags.

hificus - I know 04blackbonnie put a set of thrux pipes on his Bonneville Black - he will have a good idea of what is involved although I think its a pretty easy swapover. You could send him a PM and ask what he did about fitment. He did the opposite of your plan but may have some insight.

Hificus,

I've been wanting to put Thruxton pipes on my bonnie as I like the look better. Maybe we can do a quid pro quo. Might you be interested in swapping your pipes with those off of my 06 black bonnie? My header pipes are excellent condition (they have the normal blueing); my silencers are a bit scratched from when I laid the bike down a couple months back. Should you be interested but concerned about the scratched silencers, I'd be willing to talk about giving you some cash in addition to the swap. Also, I'd be glad to send you some photos if you're interested. Just let me know.

Cheers,

Rich

You can put the Thruxton pipes and mufflers in a Bonneville if you put rear sets. I done it in my Bonnie.
Thruxton headers doesn't have a kink, hence you need rear sets.
I never hear anybody did the opposite, after all the Thruxton is a Cafe bike.
I hope this help.

hificus, you could look at mine when we do the rearset/midset swap.

I'd be willing to trade pipes with you, as it would be easy to do all at the same time.

The only problem/issue is that I have predator exhaust ($500+), but I still have the stock exhaust. If you want the stock exhaust I'll do an even swap, if you want the Predators (which sound awesome btw) we'll have to work $$$omething out so I can buy Thruxton predators to work with your headpipes.
