I'm bottoming out the pilot air screw to help to get e clean start up

I caused, probably, my Triumph to catch fire doing this. Carbs flooded into inaccessible airbox. Started engine hot. Backfire. Ten minutes later the petrol tank exploded.
That's when I was still a fledgling. Oh, hang on ...

control rpm with twistgrip 'til engine'll tick over on its own.

Now, I use this below to idle cold. Although I usually take right off, don't idle.

It's a cruise control. Lock throttle grip high enough so it doesn't stall. No fire yet 👍
