Good day all,
I am looking into adding some side bags to my 99 Tiger. So far I have received some great info from BLACKTIGER, thank you H.
I am not into the supper-sized aluminum panniers and don't need that kind storage space. I am thinking along the lines of Givi side racks with small Givi hard bags like E21s or mounting some Pelican cases myself. I know the racks (frames) are offset due to the exhaust so most folks use 2 different size bags.
What have you all done for bags?

Take a look at http://www.triumphrat.net/modules.php?set_albumName=album192&id=abe&op=modload&name=Photo_Album&file=index&include=view_photo.php
It's my 99 with panniers and top case that cost $64 and some spray paint. The boxes are aluminum voting machine cases I got on eBay that have O-ring seals so they're nicely weatherproof. I got GIVI racks on the bike when I bought it and have the cases bolted on. They weigh about two pounds each and have withstood more than four tipping over events! The top case is actually 1 1/2 of the panniers, epoxied and riveted together. Low-tech at its best. I did modify the GIVI rack, the weak point was where the top cross bar bolted through the rear plastic fender. I made two aluminum brackets that went from the mounting bolt, still through the fender, but bolted to the frame right in front of the taillight. The cases aren't huge, but they work great!
Wher are you in CA? Maybe Sonoma? I can always use an excuse for a road trip to show you!

I saw your boxes in the album, nice use of recycled materials. That type of box is too big for my use. That is why I was leaning toward Givi or Pelican.
And yes you broke my code, I am in Sonoma CA.
