Yesterday I was shooting laser on my beat during rush hour. I usually don't do it during rush hour but the day before a tour bus smashed into 3 cars about a half mile up the road from where I was shooting. Yesterday was Friday and I did not want another traffic jam and accident report so I just made my self visible in an attempt to keep the comuters going smoothly at a safe speed. All is going well, no one really pushing it, then a 02' gixxer 600 comes flying between the fast lane of 4 lanes and the median at 87 MPH (3' of space). Posted limit is 55. I jump on the bike and go after him. He is trying to look back through the 4 lanes of traffic to see where I am and he takes the next off ramp in an effort to elude. I was on him in an instant and lit him up. Here comes the good part. While I am writing his tickets for speeding, no insurance, and no motorcycle license, his bike falls over onto its right side. "How did that happen? " I thought to myself without looking up from writing the tickets. There was nary a breeze in the air and vehicles were not speeding past us on the off ramp. I looked at his bike and noticed it had a lowering kit but they did not replace or shorten the kick stand. The bike stood almost straight up and down with the kick stand down. Bad luck for that kid. He was wearing a helmet and nice jacket though :)

I could have arrested him on multiple charges. Why I elected to just give him court citations is because he didn't give me any attitude, he just had poor judgement. He is stationed here in the Navy. Hopefully he will learn from the experience and live to be a ripe old age. I did question why the bike was lowered. He said the previous owner thought it was cool. I said "Don't you scrape in the corners?" I already knew the answer from the shiny black chicken strips. He said he takes it easy in the turns. Duh.

I suppose you would lock him up for the Riding gear by "Old Navy", and the shoes by "Converse". Police brutality should be reserved for a chain drive wallet or an OCC t-shirt.
