Hey guys, I want to apologize in advance for the likely stupid question. However, I need some help with my new Arrow dual slip-ons. First, a bit of background. I bought some new titanium dual Arrow high-mounts on eBay. The picture from the seller showed the style (with the contoured heads), but when I got them I realized they are the old round style (that you buy from Red Racing Parts). I was hoping for the new style, but I can live with the older style and will keep them.

Anyway, I'm trying to find out if these pipes have the db-killer/baffles in them. The pipes themselves say “not for road use” and do not appear to have the cir clips I have read about, although maybe I'm missing something. They do have some perforated cylinders that go through most of the pipe but that do not appear to be built into the walls of the pipe. I've attached some pictures to clarify.

Can someone tell me if the perforated cylinders are the baffles or if these pipes did not come with baffles?

I have the newer Arrows with the removable baffles. When the baffles are our i still have the perforated screen, which i am assuming is for some sort of spark arrest. Have you installed the cans yet... with mine, when i remove the baffles i can actually look straight through the pipe and see that there is nothing in the way at that point, just a straight hole all the way through.

Thanks, Bob.

No, I haven't installed them yet and I can see the whole way through as well. I guess I have the perforated screen you mentioned but no baffles. Hope I don't need them in the future....

I see you're in South Jersey. Do you get into Philly much?

I rode around philly a little bit, a friend of mine who now owns my old '99 SV650 went to school there. He now lives in Princeton though, but i always look to get out. I actually bought by S3 from Manayunk.

I live outside of Hammonton, NJ, pretty much dead between Philly and Atlantic City, so I am not far at all.

from the pictures it looks like the baffle was already removed, they sound pretty good without them but you will need to re-map your bike at your triumph dealer. they will pop alot on decel and a simple reflash will solve the problem. the older style is just as good as the new one, did you get a mid pipe with it???

Thanks. I actually just picked up a tuneboy, so I'll be playing around with a few tunes once I get them installed in the next few days.

Yes, I did get a mid pipe in a separate package. That is what originally tipped me off that I was getting old style (despite the ebay pics). I like the new style slightly better, but I'm fine with the older style. Plus I'll save a few pounds with the arrow midpipe.

If you didn't get what you ordered then you should contact the vendor and ask either to replace with the newer cans or give you some money back.

.....but this is Ebay......so you're screwed.

the arrow exhaust you have purchase gains more power than the new ones, that includes a y-shape mid pipe that gains you mid range torque, the new arrow slips ons do now come with them so you got a good deal, its a $1k system

I`m about to get an 09 and am looking at the Arrow twin slip ons, I`ve run TORS on all my other speed triples, which have been fine but they don`t seem to do them for the 08 onwards. Anyone unhappy with their Arrows?

Rob, the new style Arrows are good cans. Very light, they have the baffle if you need it for race track or MOT reasons, and they also work with the old style Arrow's midpipe if you want to shed more weight and ditch the catalyzer bulge.

If getting the midpipe too, then it might be worthwhile to weld small extensions to the ends of the pipes to push cans a bit more rearwards. I welded ~45mm to the ends and now the cans end nicely where the bike's tail ends.

Not many very good TuneBoy tunes for 08 onwards dual cans + midpipe at the moment though, so you are looking at dyno time if you want full benefit. The Hickley dual highmount tune is a bit weak on the lower rev range and tends to afterburn a bit on overrun.

Thanks Martin, luckily we don`t get the mid pipe cat cat on Australian spec bikes, the lower heat shield is absent too, so I don`t think there`s any need for a new mid pipe. I`ll take your advice on the tune though and get it on the dyno. Luckily my nearest dyno happens to be a mate who specialises in Triumphs...

The TORS were fine and not loud enough to get a ticket from the cops, I want to run the arrows with the baffles out, so I`m hoping they aren`t TOO noisy.

Nah, they arent realy that loud at all even with the baffles removed, Removing the baffles changes the tone more then it does the volume, and i am happy with mine.
