I was hoping someone here could help with the oil pressure sending unit on my 07 Bonnie
1) Is it a variable unit, or on/off unit? I suppose I could measure resistance while the bike was running.
2) What thread size and thread type is the unit?(BSP, NPT, Metric pipe)

The reason I ask is that I have thought that instead of fitting the bike with the expensive mechanical pressure gauge with hoses and banjo fittings, I could simply hook up an electrical pressure gauge to the sending unit. These gauges are are cheap and abundant at any auto parts store. They can be modified to mount anywhere and just run wires to it.

I don't know about the thread size, but I understand that it is an on/off unit, and simply activates when the pressure is below a certain point.

Whoops, Mikeinva beat me too it.

Guys,
Thanks for your input. I knew you two would have an answer. I suspected as much but was hoping I'd get lucky. I looked at it again today and realized it would take more thought and inventivness to go that route. Back to the drawing board.
