I am a newbie to the sight and I finally got my fist Bonneville Triumph this past year. I am in the process of changing the gearbox oil and I cannot seem to find the exact recommended gear oil from the original Owners Handbook. Is there a recommended, current, gearbox oil that anyone could suggest for the 76 Bonneville 750?

Hi Crookster, welcome to the forum.

You might want to post your question in the classics forum - there are a lot of people who are knowledgeable on the coventry / meriden Triumphs there. This particular forum centers on the modern twins made in Hinckley.

Here is a link:

I see there is a sticky about primary oil which may be of help.

Nevertheless, welcome to the forums and I hope you have a good time here.

85/90w synthetic gear oil in the gearbox. 20/50W SG rated motorcycle oil in the engine and primary.
