Hi folks, I've got a 2012 Tiger 800 and managed to lose the key with the key code tag on it, and I neglected to write it down or make additional keys.

There's an ignition core, gas cap, seat lock and luggage bore set online that would work, however I'm not sure if I can just swap the ignition out and it will work straight away. Does anyone have any insight on this?

Thanks in advance!

It won't work. There's s chip in the key that needs to be coded to the bike ECU.

My Wife lost the key to her Subaru-$240 to get a new one and have it coded (ouch!) Hope Triumph aren't a ridiculous rip off like that

I do think you can get a key from Triumph without the key tag number. I acquired my Daytona without a key. I called the original selling dealer and with a little info I got a key right from Triumph that came pre cut. That was before the code days though. So you'd have to get it coded to the bike at the dealer.
