Hi, folks! A couple of months ago, I came back to motorcycling after a hiatus because a doctor almost killed me. My first bike was a 1966 Honda Scrambler. I got her in 1968. I sold her when I graduated from college. In 1970, I got a 1970 BSA 441. That bike was stolen.... after it landed on me and smashed up my right ankle. I stayed away from bikes for years after that, until I got a 1997 Yamaha Virago. I wanted something bigger, so I traded that little guy in for a Yamaha Royal Star Tour Classic II. I loved that bike. We traveled all over the US and Canada together. I cried when I had to sell it in 2013 when I had an ill fated surgery and several follow ups..... Long story. I said, screw it, a couple of months ago and decided to hit the road again at 71! I bought a well taken cared for 2013 Speedmaster from a friend. What a terrific bike! So, I'm back in the saddle again! I always wanted a Triumph and now I have one! Wahoo!!

I've been lurking here ever since I got the bike. This is a terrific site with lots of knowledgable, friendly folks! I'm happy to be a part of it now!

Speaking of parts, I did a dumb thing and busted the rear tail light lens. I contacted some Triumph parts places and talked to Engle Motors. They said that Triumph does not sell the lens alone. I would have to buy the entire rear brake light, turn signal assembly! I'm shocked about that. Is that true? If so, does anyone have a lens that you perhaps have lying around that I could purchase? I know that some of you have switched out that entire assembly for an aftermarket solution. In any event, please let me know if I can take that part off your hands. In the meantime, I gerryrigged red translucent tape obtained from an auto parts store to fashion a really crapping looking solution to the problem. It sucks! Please save me from it!

Thanks, and I'm so glad to be part of the community here!

I graduated in 2007, but didn't move from the area until 2014. I do come back to the East Coast and specifically the DC area about once a year. I have a pseudo-niece near Leesburg and some college friends still are in Frederick. It is a fun town. The Canal renovations really made downtown! (the whole time I was in college it was under construction. haha)

Hi! I just got my first bike on Friday (13 Scrambler). I'm also in the Frederick area and picked it up at Primo Motorcycles. I don't think that they do much in the way of repairs but Ben and the guys there are super friendly and knowledgeable. I'm sure they probably know where you can pick up some parts or any really good repair shops in the area.
