Greetings.

Motorcyclist since I could walk, followed my father around the motorcross tracks and enduros in northern Queensland, Australia as a kid.
First bike I could call mine was a Yamaha XT250 I couldn't even touch the ground on. Ran a muck around the farms and into the mountain ranges, up the firebreaks, finally joining my old man and his buddies on their long weekend trips through the outback to anywhere there would be a decent river and/or waterfall or gorge awaiting us. Fish for dinner, back up trucks, beers at the two-pub towns along the way.

First large roadbike at 17 y/o (1981 Kawasaki GT750: yes a shaft drive). Much fun had up and down the Kuranda and Gillies highways and along the coastal road to Port Douglas and back home to the Atherton Tablelands up the Julatten highway.

Later would travel abroad... scooter around islands in the Carribean... did Mayorca on a naked BMW 850 (another shaft drive!!)... finally spent the last 15 years riding around Spain mostly on Honda VFR 800s.

During a 2-year stint in Oxford, UK, I bought an unloved Tiger 955i for a song. The previous owner thought the problems the bike had were generic and/or too expensive to fix but he was either lazy or uninformed. All good for me. I've brought it over to Spain and am currently going through the administrative torture of registering it over here.

Lately most of my MC buddies have passed or a reaching that all important mid-century were it's not your age that matters but your middle... or moreso your lower back!!
So most of us have moved on to ADV bikes... mostly Triumph Tigers. One of my best mates has the 2016 1200 XCA and has asked me to canvas the English speaking forums for a solution to his chronic tinkering issue, which finds his 1200 XCA losing low down power in Sport mode with a gutted cat and gutted Arrow "silencer" (or should I say exhaust pipe now, lol).

Guess I should open that can of worms in the 1200 annex of the forum... right?

Anyway, real happy with the 955i, plenty of motor, brakes, nice windshiled for a 6'4" tall guy, comfy ergos... I'm chuffed with this Triumph!!

If anyone ever needs info on the best routes through Spain... just ask.

Cheers.
