Ain't she a beauty?! Scroll down to the gallery and click the bottom picture for the video to see the new features of the 1200 Nightster. I think it looks fantastic.

It looks good for a Harley...I've never been a big fan. I'd like to see what they could do with switching over to some more modern engineering concepts.
I reckon they figured they pushed "the envelope" enough with the VRod and are waiting to see if it takes off like the other HD models before making radical changes to the rest of the line up. But in time, I don't see how they can avoid not making those modern engineering changes.

Either way - I like this bike.

I know many bikes are pushing this "low seat" thing, but for a guy who's 6'2", it don't fly with me. I feel like I'm sitting on a "kiddie" seat with my knees in my chest.

Sportsters come closer to tempting me more than any other HD, which isn't saying much. But the new tank shape ruins it. Putting a porky tank on it makes it look like a wannabe big twin, not the somewhat different bike sportsters were meant to be. If they wanted a bigger tank, they should have stuck with the same basic shape to keep the sportster distinct from the rest of the lineup.

But why should they care what I think? The chances of me buying one are pretty much nil anyway. I'd rather have a Bonnie, or something like a CB400-four.

Okay, now that I've actually looked at the Nightster in particular, it's pretty good looking for a sportster.

I don't understand why people feel the need to be so condescending over those who say they like a certain bike. Terms like get of fthe crack pipe seem extreme to me.

The bikes we like are totally up to the individual. It's also their money to spend as they see fit.

It's also not like Triumphs are marvels of hi-tech innovation either! Aren't today's Bonnevilles just updated versions of old technology too? Even the highest tech brand new Daytonas aren't groundbreaking tchnologically speaking. Plus, that Sportster comes from the factory with those hi-tech turn signal cancellers that Triumph doesn't seem to think are important.

It's been said the highest form of flattery is immitation and practically every motorcycle company tries to immitate Harley's cruisers and big twins. Don't you think the Rocket III and other offerings by Triumph were targeted at the H-D buyer?
