Welcome to the site, please say 'Hello' on this forum.

Please be sure that you have read and understand the site's Acceptable Use Policy:

Click here to read the AUP

Make sure that you have filled in some details about yourself and location in your profile.
This makes it easier for other members to offer advise or answers to any questions that you may have. Model specific questions are best brought up in the relevant subforum for your type of bike; this forum is just for introducing yourself.

Also when posting, please use the 'REPLY' button rather than the 'QUOTE" button unless a part of a previous posting is relevant to your reply. Try to 'quote' only as much as needed. (We do not need to read the same post or see the same pics numerous times in the same thread.)

Members who have previously registered but have not yet posted are also asked to place their first post here prior to being able to post normally in the site's other forums.

Thread Subscription Service

Newly registered members have their profile automatically set for Subscription mode on a daily basis. This means a system generated email will be sent to you advising you if there are any responses to your subscribed thread on each day.

To change the settings on this or to turn it off follow this procedure:

To set your profile settings, go to the 'User Control Panel' on the Home Page Main Menu, click on 'Edit Options', Go to the 'Messaging and Notifications' window and on the second panel, make your selection from the roll-down list, then 'Save Changes' at the bottom of the page.

Any queries or difficulties please use the Contact us or if able to, use the Private Message function and contact an Administrator or Moderator who will be pleased to help you.

Thank you and enjoy the site.

:)

Quote Button

We all tend to like using the quote button from time to time. Over use though can create problems for others. The following is a suggested manner to use or not use the quote button, which is what one of the administrator suggests. I think the main point is moderation not excess.

1. When replying in a thread, keep in mind those users that are on dialup or on limited bandwith connections.

2. If you quote the entire previous posting especially if it is long or includes a pic, it increases bandwith required to view the thread and makes it slower to download.

3. If a number of people respond to a posting in the same manner, the thread gets filled up with the same stuff over and over and it takes up more disk space on the server and most of us do not need to read the same stuff again to understand the flow of the thread.

4. It is best if you trim out what is not required to refer to what it is to which you are replying. Better still, if it is obvious, do not quote at all in the reply.

In other words, try to use the 'REPLY' button rather than the 'QUOTE' button.
