Picked up my new 2012 tiger 800 abs
Today. What a difference from my last bike
A BMW rt 1150. It's a 170 lb difference.
Feels real nimble but I gotta scrub in the tires
I also have first dibs on a sergeant seat.
They should have one in 3 weeks. I'm on their email list
I love the upright seating. Very comfortable. I did
Notice some heat on my legs so I'm hoping
It does not turn out yo be a problem.
Sure is quick.
I bought it without test riding it.
I'm gonna have a lot of fun on this bike
When I take it to Maine and New Hampshire
In the spring.

Just did rt 220 from Newport to Friendship, then a bunch of the peninsulas up to Stonington. Very fun ride.

I've got 17,000 on my 2011 and you do notice the heat on the legs when it's hot out. I usually wear kevlar lined jeans so that helps cut down on the heat directly on the skin. I've never been uncomfortable when riding but I don't stick myself in traffic much. My Daytona kicks out some heat when the fan comes on but I feel that more on my thighs than lower legs. Without any lower fairing on the Tiger you'll get the heat all over the leg. I wouldn't worry about it much.

I have not road in new England yet. I've just seen beautiful landscape. Gotta check out the white mountains in new Hampshire. I rented a cabin in northern Maine but I did not ride then.

I got it at Metuchen. I love this bike so far
170 pounds lighter than my rt. very nimble
My first fillup showed 40 mpg. Gotta get a Sargent
Seat and a givi topcase and I'm good to go.
Got the alarm system, engine guards,
Heated grips, Zumo GPS Led brake lights.
Tall windshield. I was gonna get the ninja 1000 abs
But I went with this tiger 800 because it just felt more
Comfortable

OK - save some time and money - read the forums - there is a ton of information and opinion. I had the tall windscreen, hated it.. too noisy - went for the Madstad - WOW!..

For a seat, I tried the Corbin, didn't like it - i have the Saddlemen Adventure seat - seems ok.

I got the GIVI trekker cases - when i went to the dealership, both Dan and Chris came out to see them - took pictures of the set up - they may try to become a dealer.. way better than the stock cases from Triumph.

the Bike is very capable, I went from a kawasaki nomad to this, and not looking back.

Good Luck with the bike!

Congrats on the new bike !

I've had mine almost a year now and have just over 13k on her. It's been a great bike.
Get a MadStad screen. There's a few threads on what screens are best for the Tiger.
As for seats, I'd like to hear about your Sargent seat when you get it. The stock seat kills my backside.

Taters,
how's the heat from the right side by your leg? I get it a bit on mine.. not enough to be a problem, but is there...
as far as the seat - look at the Saddlemen Seat..
