Just got a pretty good deal on Avon Viper Sports.Dennis Kirk was closing these out since Avon has Viper2 series currently.

A local shop in SoCal JCMotors matched their price at $225 for the pair out the door.

JC doesn't do on-bke mounting so I had to bear the cross of being the hated guy going into a shop with tires wanting mounting.

Well $90 and 100 miles later I went for a bomb up Ortega Hwy on my new tires.

I read several threads about a 180/55-17 rear improving handling but that's what I had before
so I went with the stock 190/50-17.This is supposed to be the better choice for a 6" wide wheel. So far SO FUN!

The Avons feel nice upon initial break-in and have a cool aggressive looking tread pattern.
Plus they have rows of little snake heads along the chicken strips I hope to soon destroy.
And they are made in UK for all those obvious Anglophiles amongst us.

If anyone else is looking for tires Id recommend these at this bargain price.
Has anyone else had experience with these? Please give your feedback.

180/55-17 is stock on the '05-07 1050 Speed Triple 5.50" x 17" rear.

I believe the 2002-2004 955i Speed Triple model range had an 190 rear.
