hi fellas,
so like the title says, only starts up on neutral, is it the kick stand safety switch that went bad or clutch safety switch if there is one?
if i put the kick stand down while running still kills the engine, that's why i didn't think it would be the kick stand switch.
thanks for any info.

Oscar.

If it won't start when in gear with the clutch lever pulled, then it's
probably the clutch interlock switch that's not working. If it starts
once you put it into neutral, that means that the neutral switch is
working. If the engine dies when you put the sidestand down in gear,
then the sidestand switch is working.

Not clear.

Does it start when in gear, side stand up and clutch in?

. That's what I'm thinking, I stopped by the dealer and the dude sword to me it was the kick stand switch but I had my doubts so that's why I posted here. Thanks.

My 2006 has been like this since I got it a few years back, thought it was meant to be this way but found it odd vs previous bikes I'd had. Following this thread now.

As soon as I get a chance I'm gonna pop it open and spray all the contacts and make sure theres no corrosion before I buy the switch.
