Just removed the baffle from my stock pipes on a 2002 bonnie. What would be a good start on the idle mixture screw. 2 or 3 turns out? Bike runs good except slight stumbling at initial roll on of throttle. Everything else (mains, pilots.. ) all stock.

Whenever I adjust my mixture screw, I start it out around 3 turns and ride the bike to warm it up to normal temp. Then I set the rpm to 1000, take the screws in together at 1/4 turns. As you lean the mix, the RPM's wil rise. If the rpm's go above 1500, I reset them to 1000. You will get to a point where the rpm's will stop climbing. At that point i back them out 1/4 turn, set the rpm to 1000 and ride. I readjust them in winter and summer. Plugs always look great and never run into backfiring on a downshift.

Thanks for the help. 3 turns out seems to be the magic number right now. No hesitation or backfires. It may be just me but she seems to accelerate a tad better now than before.
