I am currently active in uncle Sam's canoe club. I have been crazy since 1992. I go to sea on ships that are designed to sink and built by the lowest bidder

It was a good laugh but it was just something I did to escape the high unemployment and economic depression in Wales at that time. I soared through the ranks to the dizzying heights of lance corporal but had been busted back down to Trooper, when I left.

Here`s a cr*ppy picture taken in 82 which I couldn`t bring myself to throw out.

I respectfully said no thanks to an Appointment to West Point, 1970.
No regrets.

I'm grateful for all who have served, and serve now.

U.S. Army. 19 years active.
For the Army I have been a photojournalist, a Cavalry Scout and am now a Motor Sergeant (mechanic) and Platoon Sergeant. I'm now active duty support for the Army Reserve.

Yeah, I copied and pasted my answer from the other thread.

'88 - '92 Australian Army Reserve RASIGS. Mostly Op Radio and then Det Cmdr.

I did some full time duty and volunteered for everything but there was a bout of world peace at the time and no money for defence spending. For quite a while it seemed like Cpl was the ceiling rank for a digger. I realised I wasnt going to see the world coutesy of the tax payer so I buggered off and toured around myself.

Brett.
