A test ride definitely isn't part of new tires. Funny, they always tell you to be carefull for the first 100miles or so too, guess he didn't heed that rule. Imagine he'll get fired, at least he should.

Picked up a stupid staple in my rear tire on the way to Laguna Seca. Finally got around to getting a new tire. After waiting an hour, they call me in the back, and inform me there's 'been an accident'.
One of the guys took her out for a test ride (I don't remember anyone ever doing that before when I got tires?). He spun out pulling out of the driveway. I told him she doesn't like strangers and bucked him off. =)
Anyway, damage includes rear peg and mount, front peg and mount, rear brake lever, engine case, bar end, rizoma bar end mirror, front brake lever, and front indicator.
They are fixing it, obviously, and also waiving the current service and parts. Also, next time i bring it in, for whatever, it's on the house. I expect to get a set of tires, brakes, and perhaps a chain out of it. Still doesn't make the sick feeling go away that my baby's been on the ground.
Oh well... the guy felt like *****. His buddies told me to go kick over his bike. haha..

PS: It wasn't a Triumph dealer.
That's a given. Dude just wanted to see what those new Triples would really do. Only a piece-of-$hit dealer would joy ride a customer's bike.On 2006-11-05 16:05, Mark99 wrote:
Maybe if the dickhead did not spin it over he would have rev limited it in every gear and you would have not been told.
I called the Triumph dealer where I bought it, and they said they ride every bike they work on as well, even if its just a tire change. It makes them feel much better to know there is nothing amiss before letting a customer ride off into traffic. On 2006-11-05 16:05, Mark99 wrote:
The bloke was taking the piss.
Riding YOUR bike after changing a tyre????
I'm happy for you that you think so light of this.
Personally I would ask to see WHERE, in writting, THEY have the right to joyride YOUR bike.
