I'm looking at getting my out-of-warranty Scrambler serviced by a non-Triumph shop. The local dealer recently lost their franchise, and I've had two episodes of the bike coming back damaged after service. It would be a couple hours' ride, now, to the nearest Triumph dealer, which I'm not willing to do.

There is a local KTM shop I'm impressed with who claim to service all makes. But am I giving anything up or taking any chances going to them? Any watch-outs? It seems like a simple enough bike, but I dunno...

If there are any clubs around you or you know of other Triumph riders in your area, ask around for a "shade tree" Triumph specialist with a good reputation. I'm lucky to have one near me and a master mechanic too who's quite reasonable. Very nice shop with factory tools, lifts, tire machine etc.

You never know. You might get lucky. KTM could change a tire maybe. Would you take your Triumph to your BMW dealer? ;)
