Dawn dish soap will completly strip your bike of any wax that may be on there. It is good to use if you plan on really cleaning you bike and then waxing it, but if not, then just use regular car soap.

If you dont plan on waxing after washing, just use the spray shine stuff. Until you get wax off of clear coat you are not truely cleaning the contaminates off the motorcycle.

Found what I needed. I called Proctor & Gamble regarding Mr. Clean Auto Soap. It has a PH of 6.6 (water is 7.0). So it is low alkaline. Washed bike. Nice and clean. Got off the road sh*t off without much scrubbing. Mixed 1 ounce to the gallon (5 ounces to 5 gallon bucket). Dried with chamois cloth. Next, I used the spray clean and shine. Like the showroom shine. Hope this helps.

I actually use Lemon Pledge furniture polish for just about everything. It dissolves bugs, shines up everything, and doesn't leave the odd white stuff that S100 can leave. It also seems to leave a bit of wax although it says it doesn't. Whatever it has in it keeps things from sticking to the bike for a while. I have heard the occasional comment about how it ruins things like visors, but those comments are typically from people selling other, more expensive cleaners and waxes.
