I was checking out an 01 at a dealer in my area.
Things to look for on an 01, or things I should be aware of?
I sat on it and it feels nice, could be a tad lower.

Another vote for the '01. They are pretty bulletproof. There were two recalls. One for the clutch cable, and one for the fuel fittings on the tank. Make sure they have been sorted before buying. Then have fun!

My '00 is wonderful. I think the '00 and the '01 are the same basic bikes. Get it and enjoy!

I would like to take it for a test ride first. But the weather in Pittsburgh is awful lately.

Even if the recalls have not been carried out, your local dealer should do them free of charge.

I looked at the photo's and the clutch cable looks like the original, ready to snap one. The recall replacement cable has a curved tube at the lever end.

I thought the price was touch bit steep too, but the Triumph dealer here is always higher than normal too.

get rid of the seat cowl, after buying the s3 you're going to need that passenger seat :wink:

I had an '01 myself, very solid machine, and very fun to ride. I liked that style of bodywork the best of any so far.

Looks like it has the solo seat, bar ends, and fly screen already installed. They would be difficult to find for the roulette green.

just an FYI in '02 they bumped up the Hp a little and did the engine/bodywork update.
