Hello all.

New to this forum, but have been reading around...

Test rode an 06 silver Tiger on Sunday and can't get it out of my mind. I got to have it!

I was given these quotes
- 06 with 1500 miles on it for $10,690 OTD.
- 06 with 0 miles (not on showroom) for $12,492 OTD

I'm in Florida. Tax is 6%.

What is a fair price to shoot for?

I'm not sure where you are in Florida, but it may be worth a short trip north.

http://www.southernpowersports.com

..find your way over to Triumph motorcycles

OTD 2006 Tiger $8,983 ..then you can pay your 6% when you get home.

This bunch has gotten a lot of business from people I know...they move a load of bikes.

I believe the person you want to talk to for the Triumphs is Dave..unless he's moved onto another department there.

has a black 2006 Tiger. OTD price for 9,500.00 ask for
Neal or Steve. While you are here you could visit Barbers
Motor Sports park and museum. That 9.5 K includes tax.

$8495.00

This was our demo Tiger. My boss was gettin ready to claim it as his own and I sold it right out from under his butt. He had to order himself another one and I bet he's really sorry about that now because the guy that bought the demo became afflicted with tradicus chronicitis after 197 miles and now it's back. Ewwww.... he coulda saved a bunch of money too! An awesome buy Below NADA retail with warranty thru 9/14/2008!

Pic on web site. I don't work for them, bought my T there, good folks.

Those numbers look much better.

Purchasing the bike out of state is not a problem as far as riding it back here or have it sent back here.
What I need to find out is about financing. I plan to finance 100%. Out of state does not include Forida's TTL. My guess is a local bank will take care of TTL as part of my purchase (their bike) and finance it all.

Need to do my homework now and start asking questions.

Somebodey asked - I am in North Miami.

Take all of your information and try to work with a local dealer if possible.

A relationship with a good local dealer does carry a premium in my book. It's not all about money when you need help.

Having said that, money doesn't grow on a tree in my back yard either.

Good advice. Perhaps show your local guy what pricing is available elsewhere and he'll negotiate. I wouldn't expect the local guy to match a price from 500-1000 miles away, but would hope he'd make an effort to find some middle ground.

Try Southernpowersports.com in Chattanooga, TN for $8983.00 or go for the one at Bogarts in Birmingham -it is closer for you and
The Barber is just a few miles from there. And yes, it is about money -dealers have to be competitive AND give good service to earn my bucks- Bogarts is good and the Chattanooga guys are fair and honest too although I have had no service experience with them and I doubt you would either living in So. Fla. Those folks you are talking to in Florida are living in la- la land pricewise. Wake them up! good luck!

I agree. A nice dealer to deal with after purchasing the bike is important. My closest dealer offering me the bike for $12,492 it out equation now. Seems like:

MSRP $10,500
6% tax $630
Rest of TTL $200
F&D $500
More F&D $500 (He didn't have a new one at the dealer)
TOTAL $12,330 (Close enough)

I will never deal with this guy w/out thinking he is on to something.

I located every dealer in Florida. I will call them from the closest to me on and work my way up to the ones you guys mentioned here.

Thanks all!!!

My local dealer quoted close to the standard price. I called around the UK, got a better deal, and went to a dealer 40 miles away that matched best deal. Worth a few calls. I was disappointed with local dealer quoting an unrealistic deal in the first place and thought they didn't deserve the business even if they had been willing to haggle - I never asked as 40 miles was close enough. Traded in my 03, and paid £3,000 for a brand new 06 tax, petrol and service included. Best deal I've done in a long time.

Heyman

This is a nice offer. Thank you.

I have my mind set on a new bike and hope to be able to get a good deal on one. I am already doing my homework.

It took me a couple of quick attempts to find my PMs and I finally have a moment to answer you.

Thank you again.

Take good care!

Heyman, I am not allowed to send PMs until I have been in this forum for a while, so I had to post.

Thanks all!

I got it!!!

On my way to St Petersburg to see the blue one RT mentioned, I stopped at Fort. Meyers to look at a Black one and that was it.

I have my beautiful jet black Tiger outside and I am going for a ride. I will post pictures as soon as I stop riding it...

Supersport 400, I can test all the bikes you have.
Just send me the tickets. Can my wife go too? :-D
