I have a 2006 Bonneville T100 and am having a problem locking the front fork. Key fits fine but cant seem to engage the lock when I turn the wheel to the left.
Any ideas. Am I an idiot or maybe have a faulty lock and am not an idiot.

I used many of fork locks, But I only used the lock on my Bonny
once and, I will never use it again. I was stuck for about
an hour with the key stuck in the lock. I could not turn it
in either direction and I could not get it out. I could see
the key starting to Tear. Need less to say I was getting
a little pi$$ed. I was about 30 miles from home and I think
It would of been a little difficult riding home in circles with
the key broke off in the lock.
when I did finally get it out I never used it again

Me too. I gave it a go, once. That was at the dealership on the way out. We evetually got untangled and both agreed that there were alternative security measures.

With the bars turned to the left, put the key in and turn while slightly wiggling the bars. The lock should turn and drop in. Pull key out. To Unlock Put key into lock and turn while slightly wiggling the bars. The lock should pop out.

Thanks for the replies. I tried some graphite lock lube and that does work pretty well. Don't know how often I will need to reapply.
