25 years ago I had one of these on my RD350LC. I made it out of a VW beetle fuel filler cap, which cost me 2 quid from the wreckers. The VW filler flap was opened from inside the glovebox with a cable operated lever, much like an old bike choke. I mounted the number plate on the flap and the lever on the handlebars.
Back then the police in the UK used Ford Escorts and Morris Marinas, so we would all go out looking for a cop car to try and 'bait' him into a chase. The cars were good for about 80 mph so we would ride slowly, let them think they were catching us, then bugger off in a cloud of 2 stroke smoke!

You need to ask yourself, why do you want one? The sites are displaying it as an easy way to beat GATSO cameras. My suggestion, if you see a GATSO camera, just slow down until you`ve gone past it. If you FAIL to see the GATSO camera, you will probably fail to flip your plate, although, quite frankly, if you can`t spot a 10ft square yelow painted box on top of a fifteen foot high pole, at the side of the road, then it`s time to hang up your keys, Mr. Magoo.

There used to be a product available called 'eclipse' which was a clear perspex plate cover, which could be blacked out at the touch of a button, as it was really an LCD screen. I have a mate that has one fitted on his Busa, works very well. Australian Motorcycle Components used to sell them but they stoped about a year ago and I haven`t seen them advertised for a while.

as a PS. Loved the Sierra Cosworth in 'plate flip' vid. I had a Saphire Cosworth in 92 and it got nicked 4 weeks after i bought it.

isn't that illegal? You shouldn't purchase anything that's against the law.
What?!?!? Do you have pipes on your bike? Maybe some LED turnsignals? Just a plain plate relocation bracket? I cannot say with 100% certainty about the last two but I do know that tampering with ANY factory emission control device is illegal. I do hope the EPA is not reading any motorcycle, ricer, hot rodding type forum...

maybe you just think you know who I am, but really don't even know who you are.:D
How perplexing! Maybe you are right? Or maybe it is ME that YOU don`t know? I have been having a few beers in the 'metal rebel' and the 'pure chrome bar and grill' recently and I bumped into a bloke, I thought might have been you. I must have been mistaken. It`s all relative.

Usually relative to how much I have had to drink...

:icon_drink: :D

Anway, enjoy the forum Mr Noggin.
