Have just returned from second rally held at Tahora on State Highway 43 between Stratford and Taumaranui. Last year, whilst on the road, I came across the Anzac Service being held at the small settlement of Kohuratahi, stopped and attended the memorial. A very moving experience, in the middle of nowhere amongst farming families and their children.
This year, after representation to the Rally Organisers, 48 bikes along with 70 Rally attendee's swelled the population of this event. It was a priviledge to be welcomed and listen to the readings being given by the children of this isolated and rugged area.
We did remember.
