Ok, so i've usually made about 200-250 miles on a tank right. Yesterday I enjoyed a brisk day out at antelope island. ( An island in the middle of the great salt lake, home of a but load of Buffalo ) It makes for some great riding, twisty roads and very little traffic that can be seen a mile away. Most of my time was spent working on my wheelies ( cuz I wanna be like you badasses ) So mostly running around in 1st gear at 8-9k, So when my gas light came on at 124 miles, I thought nothing of it, that's when it always comes on and I should have a half a tank left. So I hopped on today for a short trip to pick up the new Road Racer X.
You'd think that in a metro area there would be a gas station about every couple of blocks huh? Nope, I pushed Speedy about 5 blocks (uphill) ( both ways :-D ) Speedy managed a meager 164 miles after my wheelie session (Nothing special, but i'm getting better)
I learned two things:

A The gas light now means put gas in me @sshole!

B A night of pushing Speedy around is still better than sitting at home.

Hey Triumph ought to throw some free sh!t my way, you should'a seen how many people saw my bike! Maybe that's not the marketing push they want to make.

Thinking it over now however, I burnt up my gas twice as fast as I usually do, but the light still came on at about 125 miles like it always does. HMMM

I just noticed you're in Ogden. I was up in Park City a year ago and took my 4 year old on a day trip to the dino park in Ogden. He loved it. I wish I had my bike with me because the roads going up and back were awesome. I don't remember wich ways we went but going up there was a river and train tracks on the right side of the road almost all the way and coming back we were in and out of mountain passes the whole time. I thrashed the hell out of that rental minivan.

First tank, the light came on at 130 miles, and filled up at 150. Took 3.3 gal. I am still breaking it in, so I am not really sure I am getting the best mpg yet.

Snow in the Mountains, and 65 and sunny in Denver. As long as the roads are clean and they sweep up the sand, I will ride. (above 35 F)

there's some nice roads up there, I took my daughter to that park and she cried the whole time, she's been begging me to take her back though.

Yeah, it took about ten minutes to get him past the door into the park but once he realized they weren't real it was on like donkey kong...until we came to the room with the robotic T-rex vs triceratops. He wouldn't even walk past the open door.

Hi-jack over. The only bike I ever ran out of fuel on was a 250 cc Honda rebel. No big deal though. You could just sit on it and scoot along.

Had it less that 1000 miles so far and the has allways come on round the 100 mile mark !!!

Unless US miles are smaller than the UK ones I think I deffinaly suffer from E.L.S !

Though I havn't taken it past about 125 as pushing a bike for gas ranks right up there with paying taxes for enjoyable things to do at the weekend.

I would say so far that mine seems to come on around 135miles or so. Which doesnt seem to be quite right. Most I have pulled form a tank so far is 179miles and to my dismay when filling up I only capped 4.4 gallons.

Crazy stuff this little orange light... Earlier is better than later, but geesh lighting up as soon as I pull outta the fill station is kind silly. :-D

So far my mileage has been pretty erratic, combine this with go fast wrist, and changing temperatures I would say that it seems to be more temperature related than my wrist. The colder it is the less likely I am to get on it as hard, or for sustained times. Yet on these cold days I seem to drop to under 38mpg, vs 42-44mpg in over 60ish weather.

More logging needed!

With 85k mine gets a consistant 115-120 at the light, fill @ 3.4-3.5. Only pushed the tank once, got around 150... No way in the world 200 or more is coming out of my bike. Ok, maybe if I never take it above 2k... :(
