Hi all my name is Brian and am new to this site.

I bought a new 06 Sprint ST back in June. Sunset Red. I am also new to the world of sport touring. Come from the v-twin world.
Anyway this bike has been unlike anything else I have ever been on. I 've put about 6300 mi on it as of the Sat. after Thanksgiving.
The last ride I went on,11-25-06 was to an out of the way little Park by the name of Pike Lake. I have been riding and hunting in and around this part of Ohio for 20 some years. With that said I am still,at 47 finding little twisties and obscure places in this part of the state.
Knockemstiff Ohio is one of those places.
Over the past couple of years I had heard about KS and this year I had started out on 2 or3 other rides to go there. Somehow I always seemed to get distracted or sidetracked. Which for me is not that hard to do.
Anyway my brother-in-law and I started for KS and actually went right through the middle of big beautiful downtown Knockemstiff proper. At the time though we didn't know it. Apparently the corp. signs for Knockemstiff are a real hot item with the youth in Pike and Ross counties. JR. and I came in from the north and the sign on that side of the town had been removed. So we went right through town and didn't even know it. Two important things to consider here. One-- The town or "burg" consists of only a handful of houses at best, and Two the tax base in KS would probably be small enough that the lose of a corp sign might create a financial emergency in the right situation. Just kidding.
The ride of the 25 however found a friend of mine, Rick and I coming in from the South. The corp. sign was a little battered from whatever but for the most part was intact and in place.
Seriously though it was an awesome day of riding in southern Ohio on what I think are some of the best roads in our part of the state.
Rick has some pics of that ride in this forum.
If anyone out there ever gets in our area, central or southern Ohio, and wants to go out for a day of great riding weather permitting just give a shout.

How do you like the Eagle touring screen for the 05-06 Sprint ST? I Have the 06 model which came with the shorter screen as standard. The taller screen is about $125.00 which seems kinda pricey for what your getting.

Thanks for your input

I know it's a long way from Monroe, but the further east you travel, the better the roads get. Athens, Washington, Monroe, Noble and Morgan counties all have roads to test your grip, rubber and mental. Most triple digit state routes will may you pucker.

Actually some of the best Grouse hunting I ever did was up in Morgan county. That's back in the 80's. And I do agree there has got to be some excellent twisties up that way.
Last year went about 700mi in two days the weekend of Vintage Days at Mid Ohio. Left here ( Monroe ) at 6a.m. went to Mid Ohio-- left there at 2 p.m. an went on to Marietta and then to Galopolis and checked in at the motel at 10 p.m. Long hot day of riding and walking around at Vintage Days but always worth it. The ride home on Sunday was almost unbearable though.
Where are you located?

Looking on the map I noticed how close you must be to one of my old grouse hunting haunts. Just outside McConnelsville.
It must be nice to be able to get on your bike and immediately be riding on roads like you have over there.
BTW Next spring our pack is going for a over-niter to Point Pleasant W.V. If you'd be interested check out britrider.com Under "rides"
