I have 2001 790, baffels removed, A1 removed, K&N air filter, snorkle removed and Thruxton needles no shims.

Have not had the carby apart to know the pilot and main jet sizes, would assume they are stock.

The engine performes great except for a slight flat spot off the bottom, like when I twist the throttle when changing down, its not very responsive.

Could the be the pilot jets too small or a shim needed on the needle or do I adjust the mixture screw richer ?.

Motolink, you've described my 01 Bonnie pretty well perfectly, same specs, though I know I have 114 mains and 40 pilots and TORs; also 1 shim on Thrux needles. I'm playing arounfd with the pilot screws, which I richened a half turn yesterday with some benefit; also I'm aware my carbies may need balancing. Try a shim and the pilot screws - cheers, Pat
